Aftercare
It's important to understand how to care for the area you've had tattooed both in the days afterward and for the future to keep it healthy and looking its best. Read below for useful aftercare instructions. Each person is different and you may receive additional guidance based on your specific needs. If you have any questions or concerns please call.
Care Instructions
SANIDERM (Clear Bandage) - Leave on for 3-7 days unless
you notice redness, heat, or swelling. Remove very gently
after a shower. Wash well with mild soap and air dry.
Absorbent Bandage - Remove after 24 hours and follow
care instructions as above.
•Keeping the area clean and dry is the most important
thing
•Do not apply cream for the first three days
•Before applying ensure the skin is dry and apply a small
amount of cream. Rub in thoroughly
•Wear loose comfortable clothing and avoid soaking in
water for at least 3 weeks
•Mild hypo-allergenic unscented creams like CeraVe
are recommended (use sparingly)
25% - 40% of the pigment will fade off during the first 5 – 10 days of healing. The area may appear to be healed, but it will not fully heal for 4 to 5 weeks.
Excessive swelling – Although rare, excessive swelling or allergic reaction may occur. If excessive swelling occurs, you should consult your doctor. If any allergic reaction causes difficulty breathing and/or swelling, call 911 or go to the Emergency room immediately
Things to Avoid
No soap, shampoo, cleansers, or cosmetics on the pigmentation site for the first 5 days. No saunas, steam rooms, and baths, hot yoga, or anything that causes excessive sweating for at least 5 days. No swimming in chlorinated pools for 2 weeks. No direct sun or sun tanning beds for 6 weeks.
Longterm Care
Once healed, use SPF products on the treated area(s), it will prevent color from fading.
Be careful when having peels, microdermabrasion, laser, or using anti-aging creams on camouflage as these may contribute to fading.
